Tips
Beforehand:
- JEI is your friend, your ally, and your secretary all in one mod. Do not forget about it. Use A to bookmark recipes on the left side of your inventory screen, because those recipes? They are different!
- Put that locked pouch in a safe place. Like, bury it in a chest at spawn, mark it on your map, and forget about it until the end game.
- On a server? Bury it at your base location. Just don’t forget where it is, because recrafting it is expensive.
- Check your keybinds!
- 8GB of RAM is the sweet spot for running this modpack. I don’t recommend running other applications alongside if your computer is chugging along.
- There is no shame in playing on peaceful and/or using gamerule keepinventory true, firetick false and mobgriefing false. But don’t get upset if that's what your server admin DOESN’T want to do. That's what single player is for.
- The questbook and the Tips config of this modpack are full of information that is worth a read. The pack dev and his team? did a great job compiling this information.
- This is an EXPERT pack. If this is your first time experiencing one… prepare to cry.
- Found a bug? Report it to the github for the mod pack. Please report your issue politely, devs are people too, and they deserve all the respect. Issues · Divine-Journey-2/main · GitHub
- PLAN AHEAD. Set yourself a goal of what item you want to make for the day/week/chapter/whatever.
- Recurrent Complex is the ruins/structure spawning mod of the modpack. It CAN AND DOES cause cascading worldgen lag, this has already been reported numerous times. The dev is working on this.
- YUNGS better caves is the cave generator of this pack. Caving is a lot more open and a lot more dangerous. Torch spam anyone?
- Divine RPG is one of the star mods for mobs and exploration. Be careful of pumpkin spiders/koblins as they WILL spawn in your house regardless of light levels.
- Did the world suddenly go dark on you in the middle of the day? Look up, it may be an eclipse. WRITE DOWN WHAT GAME DAY THAT IS. And then check the night sky each 36 days after, because the night of an eclipse is when the Horologium constellation appears in the sky. This is the constellation that the stellar refraction table uses for fortune/looting and the ritual is for tick acceleration.
- Visit the pack discord! Check the modpack page for an invite, I’m not a crossing station. And thank Atricos for his hard work on this modpack. After all, this is 16+ months in the making.
- FTB Chunks is the chunk claiming/chunkloading mod for the pack.
- After an update, you need to run the command /bq_admin default load to receive the new quests.
Chapter 1 - Vanilla Tinkerer
- Ore excavator is a thing.
- It doesn’t respect the difference between Underground Biomes’ ore blocks, so you will have to vein each one separately.
- Underground biomes blocks do not mine at the same speed as vanilla, this is not a fixable thing. Just get haste.
- The crafting table is not the same recipe you remember.
- Wooden and stone tools can be crafted in a 2x2 crafting grid. Check JEI to find out how.
- Vanilla iron/gold tools and armor smelt down for one nugget of their respective material.
- Vanilla swords do not break cobwebs.
- Find a village with a building that has a bed, like a watch tower. All ‘beds’ require buffalo hide. Grab any chests, furnaces and pistons you can find.
- Tipis spawn in villages. Grab one, this is a FREE BED. And the only bed you will likely find.
- Worms? Worms! Hoe the grass blocks to get these precious creatures to constantly water and occasionally fertilize your crops.
- I hear ender lily seeds are tall grass drops…
- Don’t compress your wheat while exploring. Hay blocks only separate back into wheat when put through the crushers of Actually Additions or Immersive or Mekanism.
- You will need a lot of iron early in the game. Chests, furnaces, and other early game items require it.
- EACH tinkers pattern costs an iron ingot.
- Vanilla sand and gravel are available by converting the Underground Biomes sand and gravel. There’s a tooltip. Read it.
- Want vanilla cobblestone but too lazy to make a generator? Compress what you have and then craft it back.
- If you are having issues seeing the different ores on the Underground Biomes rock, try looking for the Freebi’s Mix resource pack. A good chunk of what mods added is part of that resource pack, and it covers most ores, but not all. I’ve seen copper, tin, lead, silver and osmium specifically, and then coal, redstone, lapis, diamond, iron and gold. Not aluminum. DD&SS Resourcepack 64x64 - Resource Packs - Minecraft Another choice is the faithful 32 modded resource pack with the rainbow icon, but some ores (iron on siltstone) are still tough to see. Use your Waila to find that stuff.
- The outlined ores resource pack does NOT work on Underground Biomes ores, sadly.
- If you find a lignite Underground Biome, mine that stuff up. Each piece of lignite smelts a single item, like mini coal. It's hard to see ores against it, so be wary. Darker than coal or obsidian.
- The magical smeltery number is TWENTY. Check the recipes of your major smeltery components to understand what I mean.
- The magical tool head number isn’t the same as vanilla tinkers, plan accordingly.
- A single layer 3x3 smeltery is able to smelt 9 blocks of ore at a time, giving you 2 blocks of material. Per Layer.
- 4 pieces of cobblestone smelt into one seared stone block.
- Smeltery casts can still be made with either aluminum brass or gold. Gold takes two ingots though per cast.
- Alumite pick not fast enough before you craft? For your everyday pick needs, try realmite from Divine RPG. It generates as common as iron, and crafts into a pick like normal. Obsidian mining level, 600 durability. Never hurts to have the alumite pick just in case though. - by BuzzAldrin of discord
- Want cheap fortune on your tinkers pick? Put ONE piece of lapis on to apply luck, and go ham mining. With enough mining, you can reach fortune 3. It is possible to do.
- This is not possible to do with haste. You have to add your own batches of redstone.
- An unbreakable tool is possible early game, if made solely from prosperity shards for 5 modifiers. The reinforcement modifier is not changed.
- With enough mining and enough work, you may be able to invest in early divine rpg armor, like the shadow set. But it involves a LOT of arlemite and rupee (green and blue for my colorblind audience. Realmite is orange-gold.)
- Did you find a desert yet?
- Notable locations to find/mark on your map: Abyssalcraft mountains/forest, corallium infested swamp, swampland, jungle, desert, mesa, flower forest.
- It's highly suggested that you either get a cow farm NOW or wander the world murdering everything for its leather hide. I mean, horses only have two uses…?
- Find some way to protect your passive mobs, like a fully enclosed lit up pen. A mob that is a black dog from bewitchment eats passive mobs. - by skinnybois on discord
- Issues finding diamonds? Slay rototicks from divine rpg deep in the mines.
- Issues finding emeralds? Mine around in the low levels of mountains.
- Is your gear enchanted? The enchanting table is kinda expensive now. But bookshelves are the same.
- If you made a backpack from Iron Backpacks, don’t bother upgrading it right now. Iron backpacks will be phased out, so use it to craft something else. If you already have a backpack, don’t get overly attached, and CLEAN IT OUT BEFORE AN UPDATE. Just in case.
- The new update for 2.2.0 includes Simply Backpacks. These backpacks are NOT upgradable, but the epic backpack is actually super cheap in comparison to the rare that is asked for in the quests.
- Concerned about the loss of your xp? If you find two bottles of enchanting, combine those with two emeralds, and a book to get a tome of knowledge. A cheap way of collecting your XP to store in a chest so you don’t lose your experience (or all of it) on an inevitable death. By maartenvg on reddit
- Luggage is VERY easy to make; chest, sticks and a diamond. 5 more diamonds makes a serenade striker that can hit the luggage with lightning, and you have a portable double chest that follows you and eats what you drop.
- For the low low price of an iron door, a noteblock, a pair of tripwire hooks, a piece of string, blocks, three slabs, a chest and a hopper, you can make yourself an afk fish farm. Consult youtube. Excellent for collecting fish and occasionally enchanted books/bows/fishing rods. Toss the extra doors into the smeltery to get 2 iron ingots each.
- Invest in punji sticks early if you stink at combat, or wish to keep from earning the Untrue Pacifist achievement. It doesn’t count if you don’t deal any damage to the mob. ^_~Or play in peaceful.
Chapter 2 - Totemic
- Totems have a base and can stack 5 blocks higher. Several totem effects can stack. Don’t be stingy on your totem effects.
- Later on, there is an item in Totemic to take those effects with you called the medicine bag. Super useful if you want to carry nightvision or resistance on you while mining.
- Do you want just a decorative pole? There is a decorative choice of totem poles too.
- Totems have a range of each effect, check your totempedia for how far it extends.
- Totem poles are made from any vanilla wood or the red cedar from the totemic mod. Someone make an addon so we can use other modded wood for totemic poles!
- Each instrument only adds a certain amount of melody to the ritual, but only wind chimes and drums are placed. Swap instruments to finish faster. Some rituals need a LOT of melody.
- If you are on a server, get friends to help you with the melody making.
- Try alternating your instruments as you play, it should fill the bar more. - by Taku of discord
- Jump instead of moving left and right. - By Troxarus of discord
- Perform the war dance first, it gives you a strength and speed boost, some people claim it may make your jingle dress movements stronger. Yet to be proven.
- ToAsgaard made a youtube video for help and tips on Totemic. Totemic Ceremony Help and Tips
- DrTasselhoff of discord also crafted some tips. https://discord.com/channels/691927762755387402/691927762755387405/883337355828813845
- If you’re mashing the keyboard and not paying attention to your fingers while hopping around like a lunatic playing instruments, disable your inventory open/close button. I kept hitting that while trying to change instruments and it slowed me down.
- Having trouble with saplings for the rite of spring? Put something over the saplings you’re attempting to convert so they don’t grow on you by accident like string or a block.
- Put wind chimes on leaf blocks. Wind chimes only work in groups of 3, check the questbook for an optimal setup. I wouldn’t recommend red cedar leaves as they decay even with being sheared. The chimes emit white particles if congested for space.
- Red cedar logs craft for 3 planks, but if you use a bark stripper on them, the stripped wood crafts for more planks. Leaving stripped red cedar logs on grass regrows the bark after a while?
- The flute can get stronger, check your totempedia on how.
- That stronger flute can lure animals and villagers!
- You should work to get the jingle dress before attempting the buffalo dance.
- I hope you found cows when you first set up shop, because you will need them here. Hint: buffalo dance.
- Regardless of what age your cows are, converted buffalo are babies and need to grow up before you can murder and/or breed them. You can accelerate their growth with wheat, and breed with wheat. Every bit is important, from the teeth to the meat to the hide. They qualify as a large animal, so they are… I think 2 blocks thick hitboxes.
- The teeth are not a guaranteed drop with each kill. If you have a looting sword and a luck 3 totem, I suggest this. I plan to investigate if you can get buffalo teeth without a player kill.
- Buffalo hides craft into a single piece of leather.
- Since villagers aren’t trading, I hear emeralds are found in more than just extreme hills. Or might want to concoct a villager breeder/cooker.
- Parrots spawn in more than just jungles. Tame at least two, you will need them for the eagle dance. Also have plentiful raw fish on hand for taming them, or have them enclosed. At least one will be killed. Eagles breed with raw SALMON.
- Eagle feathers and bones aren’t a guaranteed drop on kill, this is why you want more than two.
- The eagle-bone whistle sounds cool but don’t get attached.
- Baykok is the boss of this mod. His bow drop is a powerful item, so if you feel like it, fight him twice to have one extra. You will need it.
- I hear punji sticks were his greatest weakness
- Baykok knows how to use ladders. - from Realities on discord
- A full wolf totem grants strength 4 and a full cow totem gives resistance 4 and slowness. Having smite on your weapon as well is a good idea if you don’t have it yet.
- Baykok is a 2 block tall mob, and spawns within a 5x5 space around the totem pole, NOT of you. Its recommended to dig a 5x5x3 pit beneath your totem pole. So he drops in immediately and is less of an immediate threat.
- If you simply CANNOT finish those more complicated rites of song and dance, just spawn in the item you need. There is no shame in that. I too have trouble with summoning Baykok, but that’s a me-problem. This is supposed to be THE most difficult ritual, as it is ‘end game’ for Totemic.
- On a server? Petition to your admin/mod, politely for a one-time solution, like a spawn egg and turn in your entire set of instruments. Yes, even the whistle. And prove you can’t do it. Laziness is not an excuse.
Chapter 3 - Roots (needs updating as of 2.2.0 for the roots 3.1.1 update)
- Meant to be completed alongside the Immersive Engineering chapter for progression to make sense.
- The roots manual presently does not function correctly with the removal of achievements thru Triumph, it has been reported to github.
- This is fixed in 2.2.0 with the update to roots 3.1.1 and removing the blacklist for Roots from Triumph.
- Standing grove stones need to be activated by the grove supplification spell on a staff. This item is required for the fey crafter to work. If there are green etches on the stone, it's active and ready.
- It passively spawns grass and flowers around it in a moderate radius NORMALLY. In this modpack, this feature is disabled.
- Spell dusts are added to a staff with the imbuer. Each staff has… five slots for spells.
- The questbooks mentions several but a running favorite is rampant growth, which runs on persekia and spirit herb. Bonemeals a decent area. Doesn’t sound like it works on ender lilies.
- The spell Sky Soarer is a good way of getting out of danger or glide long distances, but it has a cooldown. - by pajama day on discord
- Use two sky soarer staves to double your flight time and swap between them. - by Rexxy of discord
- With the update to 2.2.0, spell dusts have CHANGED. Some have been disabled, others added. Consult your roots book.
- I hear the imbuer is a disenchanter. Check your roots book.
- If you find wildroot, grow some in your farm first. It is a tall grass drop.
- Terra spores are applied to cobblestone to make moss stone, then scraped with a knife to get terra moss. Put that cobblestone next to water or carry that knife everywhere to scrape all the moss stone clean. The overgrowth ritual can help. More terra spores can be found as a drop from tall grass or a quest reward for getting terra moss.
- There is an underground quark biome of trees, coarse dirt and moss stone, I hear.
- Underground Biomes mossy cobblestone cannot be scraped for terra moss. However it can be converted into vanilla moss stone, which can be scraped for terra moss.
- Any roots knife can harvest the terra moss, but the quest asks for an iron knife. It also serves as a semidecent early game weapon with fast attack speed and about as strong as an iron/diamond sword. It can’t enchant for looting though, but can do fortune because of breaking wood for bark.
- The pyre must be lit in order to launch its crafting/ritual.
- Turn down your brightness some, the pyre burns super brightly, and can be harmful to your eyes.
- Certain rituals for the pyre require standing stones, i.e. runestone with a chiseled runestone on top. Check the roots book on how many you need.
- Imps can be summoned using Creature Summoning!
- Later on, there is a way to automate fey crafting.
- Stuffed aubergine is a great early food choice once you get persekia bulbs in excess if you get sick of berry medleys and bread. Because who likes making that many bowls.
- Also works with cooked beets/potatoes/carrots if you want them earlier.
- Roots offers a variety of elemental soil with their own special ability, based on the element.
- Some modpacks allow chiseling the elemental soil to change it about, but you can only change them back to regular elemental soil.
- Put gravel under the aqueous soil to stop its special ability.
- If you’ve got the iron to spare, start a farm with aqueous soil and put a hopper minecart collection system beneath. Auto farming before you get your first machine. Or pick up all those rails and minecart chests you find underground in mineshafts.
- Mekanism makes the rail recipe much easier with osmium with 1/3x extra output.
- Bafflecaps must be grown in the dark on stone. Slow growing, might I recommend rampant growth spell. Is also capable of growing into a large mushroom if bonemealed on mycelium or podzol or grass which will drop more bafflecaps when broken.
- The wildwood ritual will turn ONE planted full grown wildroot plant into a tree. It does not drop saplings, so the ritual must be repeated if you want more.
- If you broke your obsidian armor already, consider the sylvan or wildwood armor by Roots. Each has its own perks, and looks darn cool. Druid it up!
- Living tools, if memory serves, have the enchantability of gold but the durability of iron. The living arrows are used in other recipes.
- Runic shears can get leather off any animal that drops leather on death, but not on buffalo. (i.e. horse, llama, mule, donkey, deer)
Chapter 4 - Immersive Engineering
- If you’re playing on peaceful, you might want to check the recipe on coke brick and blast brick… Is your base lit up, and did you find a zombie spawner nearby, or are you prepared to die?
- 4 zombie flesh = one blood slimeball, or each heart of damage to yourself for standing in the smeltery = 40mb of blood so 4 hearts damage = 1 blood slimeball
- The blast brick is able to be gotten before entering the nether.
- The crafts will leave you with an extra block, so if you can afford the materials, make two coke ovens/blast furnaces. They are not fast multiblocks.
- It's important to NOT build your multiblocks over chunk boundaries. Use f3 g to check. Also worth it to make the multiblock projector. This includes your waterwheels.
- Due to the immense amount of multiblocks in this mod, it's a good time to expand out your base, especially if you’ve been living little.
- You can use that portable tank in crafting treated planks, getting a lot of treated wood at once instead of bucket by bucket.
- Waterwheels can be a maximum of 3 at once on one kinetic dynamo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFeB1bqKrCE Mischief of Mice has a great video on a max power water wheel setup that looks nice too. 88rf a tick is nothing to sneeze at for passive power that only is costing treated wood, copper, iron, sticks and steel.
- An efficient usage of making steel is to put iron ingots in for steel and use coal coke blocks. - by Jimmy Cao of youtube
- Windmills start off as treated wood, but if you have a huge excess of hemp, making sails isn’t that difficult...right?
- The windmill speeds up with making and applying sails.
- Might not want to walk/jump into your wiring unless it's insulated. That’s not how you become Thor. Did YOU build a hemp farm?
- This is where the pack is going to start becoming a grind for us common folk; each engineering block is for a SINGLE block, not 2-3 like we’re used to. You will need a lot of steel, iron, redstone, copper, electrum and patience/sanity to proceed.
- There is a mod included that adds a crafting calculator. You can start planning how much supplies you need for those giant multiblock monsters. It's a bit difficult to understand how to use, but there is a book icon in its gui to get started with.
- The crusher is the earliest way to break down your hay blocks back into wheat, which can be processed by the squeezer or the fermenter into plant oil or ethanol. Forget which. Time to make those livestock merchants homeless and steal many stacks of hay.
- The arc furnace is not fully automatable, it needs babysitting of the electrodes.
- Biodiesel isn’t a skippable process in this modpack. You’ll have to make some for progression and further.
- YOU CAN’T MUFFLE THE DIESEL ENGINE SO PUT IT SOMEWHERE YOU AREN’T NORMALLY AROUND!!!
- Remember that cow farm from chapter 1? You’ll need it again. Leather req ain’t going away.
- In order to finish chapter 4, you need to find imps in the nether.
- - you'll eventually want to move from coke for steel to charcoal for steel, as there's more demand for HOP later on by tselephant on discord
Chapter 5 - Exploration, The Nether and Twilight Forest
- You need steel to enter the nether IF you didn’t speedrun building a nether portal with lava, water and wood with fire tick on. In order for the quests to count.
- The nether is altered by Better Nether.
- Roots need some of the plants in the nether to progress.
- Imps are pretty rare, look for a short piggy creature that's orange. Looting is recommended, only the hides are useful. Each two hides crafts for 8 of the items you require for proceeding. They might only spawn in the vanilla nether Hell biome.
- There is a roots ritual to summon imps now in case you are like the other 90% of people who are unable to find an imp, plus their spawn rate was buffed by more than double.
- The brewing stand requires steel and a blaze rod block to create.
- Don’t step on eggplants. You will regret it instantly.
- Nether reeds are blue and spawn on platforms or around lava. They grow like sugar cane. Stalgrate (the thick blue bamboo stuff) is thicker than nether reeds.
- Scorchers are moderately hard to find; overgrown purple blazes that hit like trucks. You have to kill a lot of them.
- Perhaps take some time to mine up those nether ores, as if you run them through the smeltery its at present 4x the output.
- Take 8 nether brick blocks with you to the overworld, put them down in a fireproof area in a 3x3 space with the middle empty, and fill that empty space with lava. Toss in gold ingots. Tada, demon metal making in the overworld.
- Spent too many times running the Twilight Forest? Those quests are optional, as you can craft the items it wants. Might be worth doing it again if you are running short on materials. The hollow hills are bountiful.
- The item to open the portal is gated by the crusher and squeezer of immersive.
- The item to unlock further exploration requires the last trophy item of the twilight forest.
Chapter 6 - Mekanism and AE2
- Steel + biodiesel = opening mekanism and opening AE2
- Once you have the metallurgic infuser use charcoal + iron for easier steel. Save your coal coke for the hop graphite. - by deagahelio of discord
- If you want to get more out of your coal in steelmaking, put it through the enrichment chamber to make enriched carbon, which counts as 8. - by uwusemi on reddit
- You can use your immersive power setups for powering your mekanism machines as well as put an immersive connector on a mekanism cable to start routing power. Mekanism cables are stupid cheap in comparison.
- AE2 meteors ONLY spawn in Atum!
- - it's possible to skip diesel entirely, and just use passive powergen + ultimate energy cube, if you AFK a lot (regarding the ultimate cube: that's necessary because, down the line, there is an item that needs a LOT of RF. my excavators run off 6 watermills and, with AFK, i've never had to wait on resources) - by tselephant on discord
- - ae2: t it's HEAVILY staged, and you'll only have access to a subset of the functionality at start. As in, no autocrafting. By tselephant on discord
- - ae2 press can be fully automated with hoppers (just hit it once with a quartz wrench to rotate it) by tselephant on discord
Chapter 7 - Erebus and Atum
- I don’t like the erebus. It bugs me more than I’m willing to disclose.
- The eye of gaea requires a lot of power. How much? 10 MILLION!
- ToAsgaard made an in-depth tutorial spotlight series on the Erebus. Erebus Tutorial and Spotlight I like how he formats his tutorials, so he is my go-to for certain mods.
- Boss info(Spoiler alert if you haven’t run Erebus before):
- The Tarantula Broodmother has a similar fight like the wither. Her dungeon is a giant eucalyptus tree. Range first, melee second. Watch your footing, and carry milk and regen, poison is a problem. She won't chase you, but will shoot eggs that hatch into baby spooders and do a jump slam in the first phase. Will chase you and use ranged poison on the second phase. You get a trophy and a ‘tarantula egg’ when you win.
- The Antlion Overlord’s pyramid is in the lava desert. The exterior is a labyrinth that is full of magma crawler and antlion spawners. Don’t break the maze blocks if you don’t have fire immunity. You need to find the four Umber Golems in the far corners, and defeat them. Each has a special ability that will harm you. Each of them drops a ‘scarab’ that allows you to open the pyramid on top. Suggested things to have on you in AT LEAST THIS AMOUNT.; 8 magma crawler eyes, 8 magma creams, 8 exoskeleton plates and 8 string. Place the 8 jade in the floor and enter the glowing tile. Those items suggested? Are keys for each portion of the forcefield of the next floor down. The big blue portal is the place to go in and fight the boss. Have fire resistance. There are fire vents around the arena. He does a ground slam, throws sand at you, grabs you and slams you with its pincers and will chase you. Drops the quake hammer, a soul crystal and the ‘antlion egg’ when you win.
- Remember that revolver from the immersive chapter? I recommend making the explosive and armor piercing bullets, as I’m hearing from others that the antlion overlord is only damageable by explosives. This doesn’t seem to be the case. Otherwise, the IE railgun has been buffed using iron and steel rods.
- The crushroom is found in the fungal forest. Some call it a miniboss, others call it a boss, who has no boss bar. Looks like a shroomy King Kong. He CAN DISARM YOU AT RANGE and does a crushing attack. Mostly melee. Drops mushroom hides when you win.
- The hornet of ‘insert name here’ is a red wasp that is bigger, stronger and a miniboss of the wasps. Very rare.
- According to the big babies on discord (I’m not wrong) you need 36 each of the different ores that the quest asks for. That includes fossil ore, gneiss and bone ore.
- Gneiss can be mined by having water on all sides, because it breaks into a lava source when you mine it without silk touch.
- Bone shards can be found in dungeon chests in the erebus - by King on discord
- Fossil ore is about veinmining and getting lucky. Have some very saturating food on you.
- The Atum scarab is split up into 3-4 pieces. Aladdin vibes much?
- Be careful of the order in which you complete quests. I crafted the full scarab to enter atum, and didn't realize until later that I hadn't completed a prereq to unlock the scarab body quest... so that was incomplete for me until I cheated it in. by tselephant on discord
- Atum pyramids you have to dig around the bottom to find the entrance.
- Atum offers a very pretty version of glass called crystal glass. You get this by smelting the strange sand. Also comes in a framed version if you put sticks on the cardinal directions for crafting.
- If you feel like pharaohs are giving you problems, perhaps surround his sarcophagus with blocks?
- Reiteration: AE2 meteors ONLY spawn in Atum!
- Enchanted golden dates are found two ways; trading with Sunspeakers or by looting crates. This isn’t a common find, but keep searching.
- If you find any dirty items, throw them in some water to clean them. There’s a chance of what they turn out to be.
- Relic ore breaks normally into dirty items, but if you silk touch it and bring it home for further processing…
- To my memory, Atum has six different biomes.
Chapter 8 - Aether and Iceika
- The item to open the Aether is player specific, BUT can be duplicated as of 2.3.0 with two hardened amber moosh on either side of it in a crafting table.
- By the time you reach the aether, I hope you invested in feather falling or a pair of slime boots/erebus jump boots and a glider. You’ll need them.
- Remember those sky soarer staves suggested back in Roots chapter?
- There are four main dungeons in the Aether. They spawn higher up than the regular Aether islands.
- It's worth it to get the book of lore in the aether.
- If you right click an aerbunny with an empty hand, it goes on your head. This gives you jump boost and slow falling. Perhaps pair this with sky soarer staff to move from island to island if it's close to move there?
- There is a reason you don’t want to base in a snow biome. Iceika is this reason, on steroids.
- If you didn’t invest in enchanted armor by NOW, do so, and a medicine bag for the cow totem for the portable resistance.
- The snowglobe requires shadow gems, which are 9 shadow bars each, which are one arlemite and one rupee crafted together. Start early on mining this stuff.
- You need snowflakes. A lot of snowflakes.
- If you switch off ‘use cave lighting’ in the cartography portion of journeymap, finding dungeons becomes a lot easier.
- Workshops are important to find.
- The resulting item you need to proceed requires the arc furnace, so don’t tear it down.
- Iceika is your gateway to RF and GP machinery. Enough said.
Chapter 9 -
Chapter 10 -
- The roots spell Acid cloud as of 2.3.0 has been gated to this chapter. If you crafted it beforehand, you're lucky.
Somewhere ahead:
- Abyssalcraft corallium ore spawns in oceans, swamps and corallium infested swamps.
- Corallium infused stone is a crafting recipe that smelts into a single pearl.
- Its pretty frequent (at least it was for me) to find abyssalcraft mob spawners underground in those quark dungeons. Notable monsters: abyssal zombie, shadow creature/monster/beast.
